The laughter
The stories
The food--A feast
Are all my favorite,
to say the least
But when the day is done
And everyone says goodbye.
A bit of me lingers
on my reasoning of why
Why do we celebrate this coming of age
For every year,
it's exactly the same?
My family comes over
we eat, laugh, and play
and everyone always
has something to say
But this year it's my turn.
Today is my day
to say that I am grateful
in every single way.

ReplyDeleteI love your poem! We had a great, lazy break, but all it does is make me want Christmas to come quickly so I can sit around more and have time to get some stuff done. :)
